TM2021 Café Cultural II, event whose purpose is to approach European topics and host an open dialogue on the completion of the cultural program proposed in the candidacy file, as a continuation of the first edition, organized at the end of March of this year, and the participative process that developed Timisoara’s candidacy to the title of European Capital of Culture.
TM2021 Café Cultural will take place on Monday, May 23 2016, between 2PM and 6PM, at the Garage Café terrace in Union Square.
The event will take place in the presence of the coordinators of the TM2021 artistic program, the curators of the proposed projects and the European guests, experienced in the organization of European Capital of Culture programs. Participants will have the chance to contribute, in continuation of the first edition, to each of the programs in the candidacy file and talk to our European guests.
“The involvement of the community in the city’s candidacy was one of the aces that Timisoara had up its sleeve before the European jury during the preselection for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2021. TM2021 Café Cultural II wishes to continue these open approaches and to continue the dialogue on the cohesion of the civil society and the local cultural environment, attempting the creation of major events, with a European impact, that can bring us the prestigious title. This is how we prove to ourselves, the inhabitants of Timisoara, to our international partners and hopefully to the jury that Timisoara wants to win, wants to break this streak of passivity and make its voice heard at an European level,” says Simona Neumann, Executive Director of the Timisoara European Capital of Culture Association.
Timisoara’s candidacy to the title of European Capital of Culture continues until the end of September 2016, when the final selection will take place. The entire process is based on the involvement of cultural operators (institutional and independent), so that the candidacy file reflects the local and European diversity, values and aspirations.
